The 120-way attempts were frustrating to say the least. If I remember correctly, that Thursday we got in zero jumps do to heavy clouds. On Friday the group was split into two 60-ways for one jump. Again, other than that jump we were weathered out. On Saturday clouds moved in again and prevented any attempts. We looked at the possibility of moving the operation to other alternate landing sites that might allow us to jump, but Kate, Tony and Roger eventually decided that it would not work. On Sunday the weather gods smiled on us briefly. We got in one 120-way attempt, with only a few jumpers out at breakoff. We put up several other sorties, but never could find a hole in the clouds that was big enough to allow the jump to take place legally and safely. Each time the jumpers road the plane down.

Those were all the bad things. The good things were that this group was totally professional, from the organization to the cooperation of the jumpers during VERY frustrating times. Not once did any jumper complain. Each was committed to the challenge. At no time was safety compromised in an effort to 'just do it'. It was a rare moment. My hat is off to all those patient, dedicated jumpers. Thank you.

Good to hear that you played it safe! I'd rather read about unsucessful attempts than about injured or dead friends.

Thumbs up!
