Anyone else out there reading the Daily Vibe at www.nationals.com?

Here is a little blurb from Monday October 2:

Bonehead of the Day Award

To the four yahoos from four different teams whose Cypreses fired because they took it too low on a 30-way fun jump: 'I videoed a side-by- side, two bi-planes and one cutaway main,' said S&TA Rich Hyatt. 'So I grounded them. They may have been competitors but they're spectators now.'

Actually it happened after 4-way intermediate completed. But it was before CRW started

I know Jack should know but...

No shit there I was looking down on a reserve biplane, no 2 reserves! no 3! no 4!

I stand corrected. It was after 4-way started, but before the event that the individuals were registered for.

LOL ... yeah, but you're supposed to forget the Cypres ... not the altitude.

Gee, and four out of four lived anyway?

Without the Cypres, they could have tried denying they went *that* low. Now maybe they've learned an important lesson. How's that: Cypres as a cybernetic S&TA always looking over your shoulder and never hesitant to point out a screw up. Maybe Cypres saves even more lives than just the no-pulls.

i was seeing double of what i saw the weekend before.

ALL of the folks involved w/ those 6 cypres fires plus others without cypres were 'geeking the camera' down low.

So, when that happens, the camera flyer gets yelled at by the S&TA too, right? After all, if s/he pulled at the right altitude, there'd be nothing to geek. No?

Two of them had both canopies out. The odds are they are going to fly fine, but I prefer to only have one. Maybe some of them haven't read the thread on why one should learn more about AADs? :o)

No shit, Sherlock. Who has ever said that only the people who are incapacitated gets saved by AADs? The people who loose altitude awareness gets saved to. Ofcourse, in two of the situations the CYPRES could have made it *worse* for them. It didn't, but that's a 'what if' for you to ponder. Sleep well :o)
