Was any of that burned in the fireworks incident at Quincy 99? Was it in the same tent? Should the seller inform the buyer of possible smoke damage? My first canopy was a real bargain due to the fact that it was in a warehouse that caught fire. I jumped that Django 'Pegasus' 220 for 10 years and 1768 jumps. At the end while others were building speed with the new zero porosity, I was building speed with high porosity. Granted the speed was in the wrong direction, but , without failed attempts there would be no progress. For what it's worth Deborah, I wasn't at Quincy in 99 and don't know the perpetrators of that 'Dreadful, Irresponsible, Loutish Behaviour'. I just kind of like the way that phrase reads and sounds. Yes , I realize that it's a Kallendism. One of my favorites. The only reason I remember your tent being burned is because when you related that info on the thread I thought it was pretty shitty that the responsible parties were irresponsible in not making amends for the damages and wondered if they would offer to compensate you after reading about it . I take it they haven't. One big family? Not anymore.

Not even the same gear. Quincy 99 I was jumping a Vector with a PD main, which I have since sold to my ex-husband.

Never expected compensation. Did buy a new tent - no biggie. And I watched two other tents get burned this year from fireworks. Just glad they weren't

IIRC, it was fireworks among the parked airplanes that I referred to (since one of the planes was mine). Probably the same perps.

No Professor , most likely a different group. You recalled an incident at 2:00 am and later the same incident at 4:00 am. Your 'perps' did no damage to any aircraft, but they were loud as well as dreadful, irresponsible, and loutish. Obviously they had a high knowledge of fire works in order to light them in such an explosive atmosphere without causing damage.

The group who damaged Deborahs' tent, unfortunately, didn't have that knowledge or expertise as they did cause damage. Unless of course we accept the premise that they intended to cause damage to Deborahs' tent.
