There are government officials ready and willing to impose tight regulation on skydiving by going after jump planes. These officials want to impose expensive modifications that would put most DZOs out of business. Fortunately USPA is keeping them at bay, so far.
Want to keep on jumping? Support USPA it's the only association looking out for you.
Remember the IRS tax problem on jump planes? It was USPA that worked for you, no one else.

Why did USPA have to wait until the FAA got nasty about seatbelts after a couple of nasty air plane crash's and lots of jumper's died. Remember standing up in the front of the airplane on takeoff.
The feds aren't the answer but USPA needs to get their act together for the benifit of all jumpers.

Standing in front of the plane is clearly an expression of values protected by the First Amendment. Seat belt rules are just another example of the executive branch of government riding roughshod over citizens rights and supported by a liberal Supreme Court!

Uhh, I think you misinterpreted what he said John. He said 'standing up in the front of the airplane.' Standing up 'in the front of the airplane' is decidely different than standing 'in front of the plane.' In some planes it used to be common for a jumper or two to squeeze up front to stand during takeoff (to keep the weight forward). This is how 16-ways were done from King Airs and 10-ways were done from Cessna 411s.
Seat belt rules are just another
In the case of common transportation at least (ie. jump planes) you're wrong. But I think you know that, 'cause this post of yours has a weird tone....are you trolling?

Your interest in not wearing a seatbelt is outweighed by the interest your fellow passengers have in not having you fly through the cabin like a meat missle who may crush them.
Yeah, you.

Going after jump planes? What do they want to do, make them safe for the occupants? Just look at the reviews of aviation accidents reported by Parachutist this past year (May 2000, p.38).
