Skydiving is a spiritual experience

I totally understand what you mean. A couple of weekends ago I went out to the DZ in a really bad mood, I wasn't feeling well physically either, to the point where I almost didn't jump. I wound up jumping, and I was so glad I did. It completely made me forget what was bothering me and made me feel so much better. Since skydiving requires such focus, it allows you to release anything else that doesn't need to be in your mind.

Now I can honestly say that I have never experienced the kind of intense joy that I get from skydiving from anything else in my life. Not to say that I haven't experienced joy in my life from other activities/people, but with skydiving its so unique. Skydiving is not about the destination, it truly is about the trip and living in the moment.

Yeah, would been out there pretty early but Base Jumper Mark was back from Guiana so we got trashed. Made it out there around 12:30 on Saturday though. He went to Shiner for the big ShinerFest thing. Didn't know you cared. Sniff...chokes me up.
