What was wrong with your stiletto openings? I love the way my 107 opens up. As long as you are stable.

Funny how wing loading works

As it is on any canopy, especially higher loaded elipticals.

It is a very nice canopy, as are most of the high performance canopys on the market. Most of the people I know love it. I would like to jump one at a higher wingloading.(2.0+) and see how it performs

If you have any doubts, be sure and demo one!

Thanks for your positive input. Sarcasm is always a joy to hear. You may like your Stiletto openings, but I don't. They're not all the, same smart arse.

2.0+ on the Vengeance will not work out as nicely as you would think. I've got some jumps on the 89 at 2.1, and it wasn't what I was hoping for. When I jumped the 107, it compared nicely to my St107, but I think 2.1 is too much for the Vengeance. If you do deciede to jump one at that wing loading, choose your day carefully. Turbulence or higher winds should be avoided.

Thanks for the input. I was very close to byuing an 89 that was for sale here a couple of weeks ago. I am jumping a 95 samurai loaded at 2.0 and it flies vey well in all conditions. Most of my landings are in turbulent air. Seems to be a real solid canopy. Josh H

has been uneventful. About a week ago we had 20 mph ground winds increasing to

didn't miss a beat. I also have a 105 Jedei and while the performance is similar , of course the 89 makes it feel like it's standing still. The Vengeance flies great back from a long spot with brakes stowed, front riser pressures are fantastic, openings are sweet (I jump a lot of camera), and swoops are impressive. Tons of low speed lift. 3 of 4 landings last Sunday were downwind in 5 mph winds and still no problem slowing it down. If I were you I'd demo one in the 2.0 range before you decide against it. BTW, also last Sun I came in immediately behind my buddy loading his FX at 2.1 and kept up with him on the surf inch for inch. No way would I trade my openings or riser pressures for his. The canopy loves to dive but is very predictable. Just my

Do you pack it a certain way, or just like a Stiletto? A guy at my home dz has a V-120 and his takes him on wild rides during opening. A couple of them started to open on heading, then the canopy dove around and took him around for a full 360 turn. He packs (or packed, not sure as I haven't been home since August) it just like his Stiletto.

That bad? Once in a while a canopy will go out that is way out of trim. I really don't know anybody that has had that happen to them on a PD canopy, but I am sure it has. What is he doing it when he packs it? I do not do much at all. I never push the nose into the pack job. I do not roll the tail nearly as much as some do. Be very aware of your line stows, but if he has been sucessfull on the stiletto then I would think he should have no problem. Never rule out the Pcycho pack before he gives up. Usually tames canopies.

I agree with Josh's advice. My V89 opens as good or better than any eliptical I've ever jumped (including Spinettos). Let the nose hang evenly without rolling or pushing it in. If you are loading heavily all elipticals are very sensitive to slight body movements during the deployment sequence. Also helpful is keeping the d-lines from both sides next to each other in the center after flaking the pro pack. If they get seperated it seems more likely, in my experience that the canopy could open unevenly.

All that being said you will probably still get an off heading opening on rare occassion, it's an eliptical for crying out loud. With experience it's a simple matter to minimize thru packing, body position, and monitoring and reacting to harness feedback during deployment.

Don't forget to always track for adequate seperation and be prepared to use rear risers right away. You never know when the other guy is experimenting with a new packing technique

Peace
