Wifes 1st tandem, my 100th my 1st cutaway on #101

It all happened yesterday. What an exciting day! It was a borrowed rig (DZO's) with a Heatwave 135. They needed 1 more body to get the plane up so the DZO borrowed me his rig as mine wasn't repacked . I did what was my best so far head down and was really happy about it. When I pulled, the canopy made a 180 left turn and then planed out. No problem there. But as I was checking out the canopy and reaching for the toggles the thing went into a big time left spiral. I kept looking for the cause but couldn't see anything abnormal. After I made about 5 revolutions and was horizontal and seeing nothing but blue I chopped at about 1800. I landed uneventfully and the main and D-bag landed about 500-1000 yards away. The best part about it all is that I remained very calm the whole ordeal. The only thing that I messed up is that I dropped the damn cutaway handle immediately and I had the reserve handle in my hand and as I was unstowing the reserve brakes I dropped it too.:~( The other 'bad' news is that my wife (whom 1 year ago was totally against even me jumping) is now wanting to jump more after her 1st tandem. Now it's going to cost me twice as much.:~) GOD I LOVE THIS SPORT!!!!!

It's cool your wife liked it enough to keep it up. We might get some even better videos in the future. I was feeling guilty about recruiting you for the load and suggesting you use the Heatwave. Not to mention I told you it was a 150 and it was actually a 135. And then to top it off, I'm looking down at you and see you cut away. But everything worked out and I'm sure we'll jump again.
